È un' idea nata da Gigi Zito, batterista e producer dell'area romana, attivo professionalmente da oltre 30 anni in diversi ambiti e generi musicali.
Tra i tanti generi affrontati c'è stato certamente il repertorio del grande Al Jarreau, suonato con diverse formazioni ma spesso con i musicisti con i quali nel 1994 avrebbe formato i Positive Power.
Questa band, nel 1996, suonando cover nei music club romani, dopo un paio di anni pubblica un album d'esordio con la Dance Factory, sublabel della EMI: "Happy to be.." e ha riscontri di vendita che al giorno d'oggi sarebbero da disco d'oro... ma purtroppo non all'epoca.
Così dopo un paio di anni suonando in giro per l'Italia, la band decide di prendersi una pausa di riflessione... che è durata fino ad oggi!
Alla "chiamata alle armi" per lo "AJP", tutti i membri dei Positive Power, che in tutti questi anni hanno continuato a suonare come session men in studio, in tour e show televisivi per artisti di fama nazionale e internazionale, hanno risposto con entusiasmo e passione. Pensare e contattare Alan Farrington per affidargli le parti vocali è stato immediato e anche lui ha risposto e aderito con entusiasmo data, per sua ammissione, la grande ammirazione e rispetto per Al Jarreau.
Ecco perciò che "Positive Power & Alan Farrington" danno vita al "All Jarreau Project" un evento live dove il repertorio di Al Jarreau viene eseguito rispettando gli arrangiamenti originali e/o prendendo spunto dai live act dell'artista negli ultimi 20 anni e proponendo una track list piena di successi, comprese le cover che aveva reinterpretato riportandole in auge.
Alan Farrington nasce in inghilterra, giovanissimo si trasferisce a Roma e li, dove il fermento musicale è all'apice, decide di far musica.
Ne fa' molta per 3 anni in America poi torna in Italia dove alterna registrazioni discografiche a live performance di diverso genere.
Nessun confine: blues - jazz - soul - rock - funky.
Non esiste musica bella o brutta, l'importante è farla bene!!!
Ben 30 dischi a suo nome; collaborazioni con tantissimi musicisti di prestigio quali per citarni alcuni: Vinnie Colaiuta, Pino Palladino, Alfredo Golino, Ellade Bandini, Roberto Gatto, Sandro Gibellini, Ares Tavolazzi, Bobby Duhram.

La line-up dei musicisti che compongono l'"AJP" può variare secondo le esigenze dei committenti, specialmente quando un palco di una venue non può ospitare comodamente tutti i musicisti. Per questo, senza che la qualità del suono e della musica vengano meno, l'AJP è disponibile nelle seguenti line-up fermo restando che la voce principale è sempre Alan Farrington e che in tutte le formazioni è possibile avere come special guest Debbie Davis, Alessio Graziani - Keyboards, trombone and back voice. Massimo Cusato - Percussion.
It is an idea created by Gigi Zito, a drummer and producer of Rome (Italy), who has been professionally active for over 30 years in various musical fields and genres.
Among the many genres faced, there was the repertoire of the great Al Jarreau of course, played with various bands but often with the musicians with whom he formed the acid jazz band "Positive Power" in 1994.
In 1996, after a couple of years playing covers in the Rome's music clubs, Positive Power record the debut album, released by Dance Factory, an EMI's sub label: "Happy to be..." which sales today, would reach a Golden Disc. ... but unfortunately not for the sales parameters of those years!
After a couple of years giging around Italy, the band decides to take a break... which has lasted until today! At the "calling" for "AJP", all the members of Positive Power, who in the meanwhile have been playing all over the years like studio session men, tour and TV shows for national and international artists, responded with enthusiasm and passion.
Thinking about Alan Farrington and take the contact to give him the vocal parts, was immediate.He responded and joined with enthusiasm because, for his own admittance, he has great admiration and respect for Al Jarreau.
So... here it is: "Positive Power & Alan Farrington" give birth to "All Jarreau Project" a live event where Al Jarreau's repertoire is performed respecting the original arrangements and / or taking inspiration from the artist's live acts over the past 20 years and featuring a full list of hits, including the covers he had reinterpreted bringing them back to new life.
Alan Farrington born in Leigh (England).
Moves to ROME and as a self -taught boy starts to sing and play "It's all the BEATLES fault".
Moves to USA starting his professional activity and attends a singing SCHOOL in MARYLAND.
Back to ITALY lives in BOLOGNA, MILANO, BRESCIA, working live and recording with several bands as lead singer.
He plays soul blues rock jazz and most of all his own music.
Works with Vinnie Colaiuta and Pino Palladino, Alfredo Golino, Ellade Bandini, Roberto Gatto, Sandro Gibellini, Ares Tavolazzi, Bobby Duhram and many others.

The lineup of musicians composing "AJP" may vary according to the needs of the customers, especially when a stage in a venue can't comfortably accommodate all musicians. For this reason, without the quality of sound and music being lost, the AJP is available in the following line-ups, although Alan Farrington is always the lead singer, and in all formations it's possible to have, as special guest, Mrs. Debbie Davis, Alessio Graziani - Keyboards, trombone and back voice. Massimo Cusato - Percussion.
